Drawing on her experience as Deputy Commissioner for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), Angela Licata will provide her perspectives on resilience and will describe how the utility arrives at its decisions for implementing steps to become resilient to climate, extreme events and other threats. Licata directs NYCDEP’s Bureau of Environmental Planning and Analysis and is responsible for long-range planning to ensure appropriate forecasting, trend analysis, regulatory review, scientific modeling, research and environmental impact analysis. She also leads efforts related to the protection of Jamaica Bay, climate change, stormwater best management practices, and planning for the new growth stimulated by rezoning throughout the city.
